A Custom Fit!

Client's Story:

In the distance the iconic stretch of snow peaked majestic mountain range comes into view as we touch down into the land of Narnia where unicorns live, and around every turn adventure awaits.  Breathing in crisp mountain air my mind recalibrates  taking in endless miles of Big Sky and vibrant views filled with a kaleidoscope of color.  We’re back! Back where the love affair first began 5 years prior and where we spent our 20th anniversary. Our home away from home, Bozeman, Montana.
While in Montana, one of my many favorite things to do is wander Main St from shop to shop, chatting with friendly faces along the way.  This day was no different, with one exception, my husband said we had a meeting for some projects we were working on.  So, I follow him across the street, down the sidewalk, and toward the back of a busy coffee shop.  Still having no clue, I ask him, “Where are we going?”. To which he replies, “The offices are back here.”  I shrug it off and keep walking and then we stop at a large door.  My husband opens the door and there standing is a super cute, spunky gal with balloons— yelling out “Surpriiise!!!”  Still unsure what is happening, she says “I’m Marina and you're here to create a custom ring for your 25th anniversary.”  Waterworks ensue and I’m overwhelmed with excitement and total amazement that yet again my husband has managed to pull another rabbit out of his hat.
As I enter her quaint shop a story immediately unfolds in each unique piece of jewelry adorning a lit case.  There is a sense of pride that reveals itself in the quality of detail and craftsmanship.  Marina’s warm and casual confidence oozes a fun whimsy spirit, melting away any anxieties I may have had previously.  I was fascinated at her ability to navigate the design process with such grace and patience, while keeping things lighthearted and uncomplicated.  Once we sat down, with a little bubbly in hand and began creating my ring we had a time of Q & A to understand what elements were important to us and how we wanted them to be expressed in the ring.  Within an hour or two our first meeting was complete, and we were back on a plane the next day with the first of many other rough drafts to come.  Over the next several weeks we collaborated and labored over design via email and “Mama Ram” was born. The entire process from beginning to end was challenging but one I’d do again in a heartbeat with Marina at the helm.  She is a true Alchemist and an expert at her craft.  I am incredibly thankful our paths met and for the reserved yet untamed essence in “Mama Ram” that will be passed on and shared for many generations to come!

Marina:

I will never forget the enthusiastic voice that greeted me when I answered his call. This romantic husband was looking to make a custom ring for their 25th anniversary. The problem? How to surprise her, yet get her involved in the design process. The solution - set up a "surprise" meeting at my studio. We set up a date. I prepared the balloons and the prosecco and set the speakers to jam her favorite music. The two then "stumbled" into my studio with friends sporting excited smiles. We all sat her down and told her she had the floor.

"Tell me what you envision as your dream ring? What represents you, your style, your life?"

The result... Momma Ram. The 14K white gold ring set with Montana sapphires and ram horn motifs.

Truly one-of-a-kind!
